Mason and Isabel went with me to get school donations. We were picking up a donation at Merrifield Garden Center. The manager told Mason he had a job there once he turned 16, if he wanted.
Me: Mason, you should work here! You’d get to learn about plants, drive a tractor, pack mulch, hard work, and you can also get your mom a discount on her flowers.
Mason: It does sound fun but mom… I am going to have to treat you like a regular customer.
Mason: Mom, can we go to look at a keyboard, mic, earphones.
Me: Sounds like something you can ask for Christmas.
Mason: I cannot believe Isabel doesn’t believe in Santa!
Me: Santa is St. Nick. He is a Saint. We pray for him every year to give us guidance on what to provide you and he gives willingness to our families to provide what is needed.
Mason: That is your theory. you believe what you want. I’ll believe what I believe.
Me: "We will be watching Charlie next week."
Mason: "I cannot wait to show him how cool my basement is. I think he will like it."
Here's Charlie:
Mason: "Mom, I need you to wash my shirt."
Me: "I am not going to wash just one t-shirt."
Mason: "Lucky you! I have a whole laundry basket full!"
Me: "You heard the orthodontist, right? She said wearing your retainer is a lifetime commitment."
Mason: "I just thought that was a phrase she liked to say."
Mason: "Before I die, I will need to get Aunt Pam's cookie recipe. They were delicious!"
Gammy: "Let her bake them for you."
