Mason is 4 weeks today! It is hard to believe how fast the first month has gone.
Mason is sleeping 2 - 3 hours, at a time. A typical night is Mason waking at midnight, 3am, 5am and 7am. Matt and I are starting to come up with a schedule, so we are beginning to get some sleep... We also owe a big thanks to my mom, as she has stayed a couple nights and has taken Mason, so that we could catch some uninterrupted sleep.
Mason is eating every 2 - 3 hours. Mason has done very well with breastfeeding and taking a bottle. He is a very good eater. Initially, Mason was eating as much as you would allow him to and he was paying the price...spitting up and very uncomfortable. We have, now, limited his intake to 2 to 2 1/2 ounces at each feeding and he is doing very well.
We are not yet sure of Mason's exact weight and length; however, we have our 1 month doctor's appointment this Friday.
Mason seems to like when Matt holds him over his head (with one hand, of course) and he likes to sit on our laps, as to not miss anything. Mason also loves to be held. If he feels neglected, he will most definitely let you know (and it doesn't take too long for him to feel neglected). Just yesterday, he made sure that he was not put down. So, Matt and I took turns holding him and playing with him. Matt has already incorporated an exercise routine... tummy time. It is quite fun to watch and Mason is already holding his head up, which he has done pretty well from day one. Mason is such a joy and a blessing. We are having a ball with him.
