Well, I would love to say that Mason's first Thanksgiving was wonderful and went off without a hitch, but I would be lying. We all came down with a stomach bug. It started with Mason on Tuesday, Dad on Wednesday and then me on Thursday.
Our initial plan was to be in Canon City on Wednesday night, but due to the unforeseen sicknesses, we were unable to make the trip until Thursday morning. Fortunately, the bug only lasted for about 24 hours, so by the time we got to Grandma's house, Mason and Dad were feeling better. I, unfortunately, was out for the count and was sleeping on the couch within minutes of arrival. When we got there Uncle Lynn, Aunt Teri and Grandma were there to welcome us. Great Grandma Pankey and Uncle Michael arrived shortly after. Apparently, Aunt Teri had Grandma ahead of time, which is unusual because Thanksgiving Dinner is traditionally held at least an hour late every year. Nice job, Teri!

Thanksgiving dinner was comprised of Turkey, Ham, Frog Eyed Salad, Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Salad, Rolls, Lemon Meringue, Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin Spice Pudding Pie. Mason was able to sample most of the entrees, except for those that require teeth, and attempted to drink iced tea with grandma, which was captured on video... I figure this is evidence that Mason got Grandma sick and not me.

After dinner, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Brenda, Marisa, Clayton, Daniel, Uncle Tim, Aunt Becky, Thomas, John and John Jr. arrived (for the second round of dinner). John Jr. is only 6 months older than Mason and they were able to play together. Unfortunately, I was lying in bed when everyone arrived and was unable to witness Mason and John Jr. playing. Apparently there was lots of play and an eye poking incident. Seems everyone involved is okay and I'm looking forward to their interaction during Christmas.
We look forward to seeing the family again during Christmas, as we will be spending Christmas in Colorado. We promise not to get any of you sick during that time (apparently, we got a few members of the family sick. I'M SORRY!!!! I already know that I will be hearing about this for years to come.)
