15 Months!

We are kicking off Mason's 15 month in Centreville, VA... reason why I've lacked in my postings... moving! Mason has been a trooper. He's had to be away from me for three weeks. Now he's away from Dad. His mainstay has been Gammy, which we are all very thankful for. Hopefully, we can all get settled soon.

Mason seems to be taking to the new townhome well. It's much smaller than the home he knows, but he is still finding favorite places to play and to get into trouble. I think he is really pleased with the kitchen setup... there is no way to childproof the kitchen drawers. So he has a field day in the utensil drawer as he is just tall enough, on his tip toes, to get his naughty little hands in there.

Mason seems to enjoy the two levels of stairs that we have, which is actually a blessing since he has reached 26.6 lbs... and now that Mason has learned how to slide down the stairs backwards, we are good to go! We can worry a little less as he's no longer trying to take a nose dive down the stairway.... Although, today Gammy caught him trying to pick up his Tonka Truck and dragging it down the stairs with him. We may have created a new set of issues.

We go on walks everyday together. Gammy takes him on a couple extra walks while I'm at work and they play at a local playground that is on our walking path. Mason plays on the slides and has a blast. I was actually impressed with Mason last Saturday... We went to the playground and Gammy put him at the top of the slide. She told him to wait, which he did. She then counted to 3 and then Mason went down the slide with a huge grin. The amazing part... He obeyed Gammy's command of 'wait'! That day, I learned that Mason can, indeed, obey.

Mason is really talkative these days. Though, it's still babble... A LOT of babble... he does understand. You can ask him to do something and he will do the task, unless of course, you are telling him 'no!'.

He's playing more and more by himself and he's finally getting on the riding toys that he has. Last week, I was getting Mason's bath ready. I go to put him in the bath and I find him sitting naked on his Tonka truck. I was so upset I did not have a camera handy... maybe next time.
