Isabel is 5 Months

Over the past month, Isabel has had many firsts and is on the verge of many more. Isabel started sitting on her own. She has been wanting to sit on her own for a couple months now. Whenever you would lay her down she would fight to sit upright. She also loves to pull herself up so that she is standing. She is such a strong little girl.

She has such a sweet temperament. She smiles when she sees you in the morning and she now giggles when you play with her. Her giggle is one of my favorite sounds. She is also quite the talker. She will just sit there and chat with you... or by herself.

Isabel is a pretty good sleeper. She has slept through the night once; however, she typically gets up at least once to eat. Though, this past week she only woke up because she was missing her pacifier. She has always gone right back to bed once her needs were met, so I am very thankful for how quickly she will go back down. We recently moved Isabel from our bedroom to her crib in her bedroom. I think it may be harder on me. I worry that she is so far away and I cannot hear her. So, I do find myself getting up to check on her throughout the night. I am sure I will start to feel more comfortable about it soon.

Isabel started eating solids and she is a pretty good eater. So far, she has liked everything that we have given her. So far, her menu includes rice cereal, bananas, cherries, apples, pears, sweet potatos. She loves it all.

A trick that Isabel has picked up recently is that she found her tongue and sticks it out and sucks it back in. It's so funny to watch and she will mimick you if you stick your tongue out at her.

She has yet to roll over from her back to her front but she is so, very close. I am pretty certain that it will happen in the coming days. We are all looking forward to watching more firsts in this next month.
