Isabel is really showing her personality. She loves her brother and will follow him wherever he goes. She started dancing (bouncing) to music. She tries to climb her pack n' play. She would climb the stairs if you let her. She successfully destroyed her crib mobile and if she is unhappy she will let you know with a loud yell.
Isabel loves to eat. If you are eating, then she wants to be eating. Just today her brother left his breakfast where she could reach it and she helped herself. I am not real sure how she was successful as she still has yet to cut her teeth. She has been very uncomfortable recently and we cannot help but think she is on the verge of cutting her bottom, center teeth. We hope she will cut those teeth soon so that she has some relief.
Isabel has been seen standing by herself, without help. We are guessing that she will be walking in the next couple of weeks. We really have to watch her because she is getting into things and she is quite fast. She knows her name too. If she starts getting into something she should not be, you just have to say "Isabel...." She will sit down, turn around and smile. Then she will contemplate whether she should proceed further. Most times she will crawl back to you with a smile and a laugh, but those other times she will continue after whatever she is not supposed to be doing.
Isabel went on her first vacation to the Outer Banks (Avon, NC) from July 28 - August 4. We rented a home across from the beach and enjoyed the beach, collecting seashells, the weather (minus the one rainy day), the Hatteras Island lighthouse, the Manteo aquarium, the delicious food and being around family. Gammy, Nana and Bumpa were with us and we had a wonderful time. Isabel was not a fan of the ocean but she absolutely loved the pool and the hot tub. She is like me in that she fears the big ocean; however, her brother was hard to keep out of the ocean. Mason and his Dad had a ball in the ocean (despite my anxiety, which I am trying to get over). It was a very nice vacation and we do plan on going again next year.
Isabel is growing so fast. She continues to have such a beautiful smile and most wonderful laugh. Her belly laugh gets me every time and it is one of my favorite sounds. She is such a sweet baby. So soft. So sweet. We cannot get enough of her.
