Isabel's First Day of School

Isabel went to her first daycare today. I was dreading the day because Mason's first day was just heart wrenching. Both of us must have cried all day (for several days). I was fully expecting it to be a hard day. We get to her new daycare and we walk in... She quickly took off to the play kitchen, then to the slide, then to the baby doll stroller. She could care less that I had to leave.

I was certain that at some point she would realize that she was alone without me and wonder why I had left her. I called once and she was "doing great and having fun". I figured it was too soon and later in the afternoon she would realize I was still not there and start to worry. I left work early and rushed to get her.

I walked in, she saw me, and she ran over to give me a huge hug. Finally! She was showing some sign of relief that I had come to save her... Nope! She took off again to continue playing with her new friend, Owen. I asked if she wanted to go home and she just waved at me and said "bye".

What was even worse... Isabel was wearing a pony tail! I have been trying to get her to wear a pony tail for a year. Between the two of us, it appears that only one of us is having a hard time coping.
