Caterpillar Lifecycles

As we walked into Mason's classroom all I could hear were kids excitedly yelling "Look! They made their chrysalis! LOOK! They made their CHRYSALIS!"

I have no idea what is going on. What's a chrysalis!? Finally figure out that they were talking about some caterpillars that the class was monitoring, in the back of the room. I get excited and quickly look to Mason and ask him if he had seen the caterpillars. I was fully expecting Mason to also get excited.

He turns to me, like it is old news, and simply replies "Yeah. They're growing up."

Then he walked off.
