Nana and Bumpa visited us from May 29, 2009 - June 3, 2009. We had a great time. Nana and Bumpa definitely spoiled all of us while they were here and we are so thankful. We wish they could have stayed longer. The weekend simply flew!
While Nana and Bumpa visited we toured Manitou Springs a couple of times. The first time we visited, we encountered some cold weather, so we had to cut the visit short. We visited the next day when the weather was cooperating to complete our Manitou experience (including ice cream).
We also hiked a bit at Garden of the Gods Park. It was absolutely beautiful and we all got our exercise. We were all in awe of those who were actually scaling the rocks and we saw a bit of wildlife (including some huge dogs).
We were able to have a very nice dinner with my mother (Grandma) at an elegant Italian restaurant. I believe Nana and Grandma won a bet against Bumpa regarding a Biscotti Sundae dessert... Turns out the dessert was NOT made of Pecan Sandies... :-).
Nana and Bumpa were also able to meet my Grandfather and Grandmother Saucedo, as well as, my father. Unfortunately, we were unable to try Big Burger World hamburgers, but we were able to enjoy some more mexican food, which we seemed to have quite of bit of during the weekend.
We already miss Nana and Bumpa and are looking forward to seeing them soon. We look forward to seeing them, and the rest of the family, this summer in Massachusetts and Maine.
