Mason turns 5 Months

Mason has turned 5 months. He is such a happy baby. His smile and his laugh are my favorite things. He has, recently, decided that sleep is not for him. I’m learning to survive on very little sleep and I do believe this sleeping pattern is much worse than it was when Mason was a newborn. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he moves out of this stage REAL quick. Mason is a very good eater and is now eating between 5-7 ounces in a sitting. He is eating every 3 – 4 hours and he eats once during the night. We do not have a Pediatrician’s appointment this month, but we will have one for his 6 month (October 27, 2009).

Notable skills acquired:
- Mason has found his feet and takes any opportunity to grab them… and put one in his mouth. I figure this is a good skill to have, so I am encouraging it.

- Mason is rolling back to front and front to back. He’s getting pretty fast at this, so now you have to be selective where you put the little guy.
- Mason is not quite crawling, but he’s squirming. Squirming so much, in fact, that he can actually get places using this method.
- Mason is starting to recognize his name… unless, coincidentally, he is excellent at looking your way after you say his name… which could quite possibly be the case…. He also has a knack of completely ignoring me when I attempt to demonstrate this new skill… So, I guess this skill is up for debate.
- Mason can now walk forward in his walker, instead of just accidentally pushing himself backwards.
- Mason is reaching for people and items that he wants… Mostly Grandma and his bottle.
- Mason has become ticklish.. mostly around his ribs. It’s fun to tickle him and hear him giggle.
