10 Months

We have moved into our tenth month and I believe we are on the verge of having a walker in the house. Mason is standing on his own more and more and he is taking his first unassisted steps. He can really move when he’s holding onto furniture or his toys on wheels. I think he will be taking a few steps at a time (maybe more) by the end of this tenth month.

Mason really enjoys opening drawers and cabinets, so now Dad is getting nagged at to baby proof anything that Mason can open. I’m not sure what Mason will do once we baby proof since he shows little interest in the items that we place out for him to play with. Mason also enjoys giving high fives, playing ‘big boy’ (throwing his hands over his head to show how big he is), eating ginger, waving ‘Little Rascal He-man Woman Haters Club’ style (hand under chin while moving his fingers) and his current favorite book is Christmas Peek-a-Boo… He loves the babies in the book and he even kisses the Christmas baby on the last page. The oddest interest that Mason has… He is intrigued by the Local Attorney commercials. Specifically, Frank Azar and Heuser & Heuser. This is no joke. Whenever one of these commercials comes on, Mason will literally stop whatever he is doing, and give all his attention to the television. We have no idea what is grabbing his attention, but it’s hilarious.

Mason has learned how to flush a toilet, unroll the toilet paper and turn on the water to the bathtub, so now bathrooms are off limits… except for bath time, where he likes to submerge his face into the bubbles and then resurface with a gasp, a smile and a bubble goatee. Mason has added ‘da da’ and ‘na na’ to his vocabulary and finally, Mason has demonstrated knowledge of what 'no' means, though I’m still waiting for him to consistently obey that command.
