20 Months

Mason is 20 months!

Mason has always had a personality but he is really showing such personality.

He is fearless, as all kids are. Mason will stand at the edge of couches, stairs or his toddler bed and take a step forward, which either results in landing on his stomach or on his feet.. it's a 50/50 chance.

He sticks up or adds into picking on me. Matt acts like he is tackling me and Mason comes charging. We can't figure out if he is helping Dad or helping Mom. Either way, he is having fun as he just giggles.

Mason is affectionate. He has a little white stuffed bear/puppet. I pick it up and put it on my hand and say "Mason he wants a hug". Mason comes right up and just hugs the bear. It's, by far, the cutest thing I have ever seen. His genuine affection for the bear is actually comforting. Mason will also give you a hug if you squat down, open your arms and ask him to give you a hug. I can't express how much I love his hugs. I simply love watching him show his affection.

Mason has impeccable taste in movies. He still loves Shrek. His favorites are Shrek 1 and Shrek 4. He will watch portions of Shrek 2 and he will not watch Shrek 3 at all. I think this proves that he has good taste because quite frankly, Shrek 3 is awful! We also allow him to watch Wheel of Fortune since he loves the colors and we figure he can learn his letters. He loves the show! He dances when the final puzzle is attempted and he claps when the final puzzle is revealed... So, this proves to me that he has learned hope and finality. Life skills!

Mason loves books too and he now can say "book". He still loves "5 Little Pumpkins". He loves that book so much that he has gone through 2 of these books and we have a third awaiting him (just in case). He also loves "Goodnight Moon".

Mason has recently shown interest in his puzzles... much more than just dumping them on the ground for me to pick them up. Last Saturday, he dumped his animal puzzle and he picked up the elephant piece and successfully put the elephant back in its rightful place (with a little help).

Finally, Mason's favorite game is "Ring Around the Rosey". He will grab your hands and play the game with you anytime you want. If you don't want to play the game with him, he doesn't care, he will play the game by himself and just turn in circles.

My baby is growing so fast and you can tell he is on the verge of talking. I am just not ready. I do pray our time passes by slowly.
