Deacon Dave was actually 2 hours late to the Baptism. He was late because he had to take over the 11:15 mass, as the Father fell ill and had to go to the hospital. Once he arrived, he told us that his service took 50 minutes; however, since he was so late he would only take 10 minutes. The service took an hour and ten minutes. Though, we did not mind.
The Deacon started the service with, what I would call, a Catholic refresher course, which was then followed by the Baptism. I, particularly, appreciated how he included Marina in the ceremony. He had Marina help with drying Isabel's head and retrieving the Baptismal candle.
Mason was a bit out of control and only wanted to be outside. So, Nana and Bumpa took turns watching him outside the chapel door.
After the Baptism, we took pictures and then went to brunch at the Old Carlyle Grill in a little area called Shirlington in Arlington, VA.
Isabel looked beautiful today.
