Isabel is 8 Months

Isabel is 8 months. Her most notable skill this month is that she crawls and is pulling herself up. In fact, Gammy found her standing up in her crib earlier in the week. Now, I can trust that when she is calling out in the middle of the night that I will find her standing up in her crib. Now that she can stand and is more mobile she no longer loves to hang out in her beloved jumper. I loved that jumper because at least she was contained. She has proven that she can no longer be contained.

Isabel, when left to roam wherever she wants, will always choose her brother's room. The other night, I decided to sit back and just watch what she gravitated toward. She looked around and started crawling down to her brother's bedroom. As soon as she got in there, she started pulling trains off his train table and  began playing with his cars. Mason isn't always real pleased with her behavior but he does seem to be a good sport, most of the time. Now, we just need to teach her how to play with her own toys.
Isabel also loves when her brother pays attention to her. The moments are not as frequent as I would like, but there are those special moments when Mason will share a toy or let Isabel grab his hair. Last night we were goofing around and wrestling. We were telling Isabel to get Mason and Isabel would crawl over laughing and pull Mason's hair. He would yell like he was unhappy but then he would tell me to call his sister over again to do it all over again.
Recently, Isabel has regressed in her sleeping and has a runny nose. She does not have a temperature and does not act sick, so I cannot help but believe that she is teething. I would not be surprised if she has a new tooth by the end of the month.

Isabel is eating solids and is not picky at all. She seems to enjoy everything we have introduced and at times we have a hard time feeding her fast enough.. One of my favorite things is that she likes to share my dessert. I do believe she likes ice cream just as much as me. She definitely has my sweet tooth.

It's been a great month. Her mobility really keeps us on the move and makes things exciting. I'm sure we will have some interesting stories to share next month... particularly since she just destroyed her crib mobile once she realized she could actually reach her mobile when standing.
